Bligh Primary School

THE LOCAL ACADEMY COUNCILLORS

Elisha Anti, Trust Appointed

Councillor

I am a University lecturer (UOS), a Fellow of Higher Education (FHEA), Member of CMI and have a postgraduate teaching qualification and MBA in Innovative Management. I am also an examiner and assessor for both AQA and OCR, an external examiner for HE institutions and have worked in the academic environment (both higher and further education) for more than a decade. As part of my duties, I develop academic programmes, research and lecture on HRM, business strategies, management and leadership. I currently sit on several board and team meetings such as staff students liaison committee, assessment boards and quality management board involving students, management and external stakeholders.

I’m happy to utilise my skills, knowledge and experience in strategic leadership and management, managing students, staff and the academic environment to support the community and contribute to the effective governing of our children's education and Bligh Primary School as a whole.

Nicola Coulson, Parent Elected

Councillor

I live locally with my husband and two sons who both attend Bligh, having relocated to the area in 2013. Having previously worked in publishing, I now run my own small business from home. I think that Bligh is a great school, staffed by professionals who are genuinely passionate about the education and care of the pupils. I believe that by working together, parents, carers, teachers and governors can continue to pursue excellence for all and I look forward to being a voice for parents / carers on the committee.

Tim Hunt, Staff Elected Councillor

I have been a teacher with the Trust since September 2018, but I joined Bligh Primary School in June 2018 becoming the head of year 5 in September 2019. Medway is my hometown having grown up here; this has given me an insight into the challenges of the area. I have previously held positions on governing bodies for two other schools in Medway.

 Christian Markham, Head of School

I have worked in the education sector for over 18 years. I started my career as a geography teacher and moved into primary education in 2016. This is my third headship. I have held many senior roles and have been a part of a large academy chain where I held both regional and executive head teacher positions.

Kathy Moon, Trust Appointed

Councillor

I have been Head of Science and I am now the Director of Research and Careers Lead at Rainham School for Girls. I joined the governing board of Barnsole and subsequently moved to Bligh because I want our children to have the highest aspirations, the confidence and the skills to not only fulfil their potential, but to excel whatever their goals. I consider it a privilege to be part of their journey.

I am a Middle Leader in a local secondary school. In my role I lead the Humanities Faculty across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. I am accountable for the progress of students within my faculty and ensuring the quality of teaching and learning. I am also a Specialist Leader of Education for leadership of curriculum and have supported other schools to raise standards across Humanities subjects. I have experience in teaching and leading many subjects including Geography, Citizenship, Politics and Religious Studies. I have become a governor at Bligh as I wish to expand my understanding of each stage of education. I believe passionately that all children deserve the best education possible and endeavour to support children of all ages in reaching their full potential.
