Early years provision

Bligh's Early Years provision offers a dynamic beginning to a child’s educational journey. We believe that offering an engaging environment with skilled adults is key to ensuring all children build firm foundations for their future learning. Our children are encouraged to be curious, to solve problems, to follow their interests and to be motivated learners. They will have plenty of opportunities and experiences to learn inside and out, to learn to work with others and to flourish.

Our Nursery

Bligh Nursery is a valued part of Bligh Primary School and is an exciting educational  provision for children aged two, three and four years old.

At Bligh, we believe every child is unique and should have the chance to flourish socially, emotionally, physically and academically - we want the best for the children in our care.  Young children need opportunities to play, explore, have fun and socialise with other children.  They need adults who care and understand young children in an environment which is engaging, stimulating and full of new challenges.

Our latest nursery prospectus can be found here.

BLIGH NURSERY WILL PROVIDE THIS FOR YOUR CHILD.

We offer free, part-time places for children aged two, three and four years old in two nursery classes led by qualified teachers and early years TA’s. They share  well equipped outside spaces with opportunities to explore, imagine and just have a great time!

We offer

For 2 and a half year olds:

  • Some children are entitled to free early education and childcare starting the term after they are 2
  • If you are eligible for working family funding, the government may offer up to 30 hours of childcare per week, However, due to our current setting, we can only offer 15 hours per week until the term after your child turns 3.
  • You can choose either 5 morning of 5 afternoon sessions with us.  You are also welcome to split the 30 hours between us and a childminder if you wish.

If your 2 year old child is not yet eligible for funding, the cost per session is £23.00.  Payments should be made weekly, monthly or termly  through the My Child At School App.

For 3 and 4 Year olds:

  • All children aged 3 and 4 are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare per week from the term after their 3rd birthday.
  • Subject to spaces within the nursery, you are able to purchase extra hours.  Extra sessions are charged at £16.50.
  • Some families may be eligible for 30 hours of free childcare.  To check if you qualify, please visit: www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

Please note:

  • The 30 hour funding only covers sessions until 2:30pm.  If your child stays beyond this time, there is an additional charge of £5.00 per day.
  • Fees still apply even if your child misses a session due to illness or holiday.  This ensures that your child’s place is kept open for them.
  • Non-payment of fees may affect your child’s place at our nursery.

If you would like to purchase extra hours for your 3 or 4 year old child, the cost is £16.50 per session.
