Our Curriculum Offer.
It is our intention at Bligh that all children should be ready for the next stage in their education. They should be able to make positive choices about their futures. They will have the key skills, both academic and social/emotional, to be successful adults.
Our curriculum offer is designed to match our school's relentless drive to give our children the greatest possible range of choices as adults.
Every child is recognised as a unique individual. We welcome and celebrate differences within our school community. The ability to learn is underpinned by our HEART values. Bligh is a school with HEART. Honesty, Empathy, Achievement, Resilience and Teamwork. These are the virtues we believe lead to the formation of healthy and positive relationships.
Children leave Bligh with a sense of belonging, the ability to work independently, in pairs or as part of a team in collaboration. They can communicate effectively what they have learnt, gather a wealth of knowledge and skills through all areas of the curriculum.
Working with the children at Bligh Primary School is a privilege. We have a clear understanding of how our children learn and expect this to be evident, over time, in the work we do.
Reading is a key feature of our curriculum planning. From early reading in EYFS and KS1 to learning through reading and being secondary ready in KS2. Reading, the love of reading and opportunities to read permeate throughout our school.
