Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope you have had a lovely summer break and that you are looking forward to the new school term with enthusiasm.
Last year was a momentous year for Bligh. It started with the incorporation of the school into the Barnsole Primary Trust. This allowed the Trust to use its expertise to support and guide the school to continue its journey towards outstanding. With the appointment of an Executive Headteacher and under the direction of a CEO who had already help guide a school to outstanding, Bligh has all of the components in place to continue to challenge and motivate the pupils, and to drive up standards.
In addition, the new build has now been completed. Your children are taught in a purpose built and stimulating environment. I hope you have all had an opportunity to see as least some of the new buildings.
Following Bligh becoming part of the Barnsole Primary Trust, a new local governing board was appointed. The Chair was previously a committee chair at Barnsole, so is familiar with the Barnsole vision and ethos. Other members are familiar with the school or have educational backgrounds. We are all very keen to support the school and to help ensure it fulfils its vision of providing the best possible education for its pupils.
We are delighted to start this year with a new Headteacher, Mr. Markham, who has extensive experience in education and as a primary Headteacher. I know he will put the education and welfare of your sons and daughters at the heart of the school.
We look forward to working with the school and with you to make Bligh into the outstanding school we know it can be.
Mrs. Kathy Moon, Chair of Governors,
On behalf of the Bligh Local Governing Board
